On August 18th, I planned and held an event to teach local children of all ages about my project and why efforts like it are essential for the environment. They got to see the dock, learn about how it benefits the turtles, discover how the ecosystem is balanced and interconnected, and participate in fun activities that engaged their curiosity about nature. As shown in the image below, my troop members helped decorate and set up the booth. We announced the event both online and by passing out flyers.

With about 40 people attending, the educational booth was a success! People of all ages turned out and discovered how they could help make our environment better! Some younger scouts also showed up, and I was able to talk to them about how I turned a passion into my gold award.
